Storing Cut Herbs

As a general guidance, either place the bag in the salad drawer of the refrigerator or for maximum freshness, cut 2cm off the stalks and put in a cup of water in the refrigerator. Try to avoid submerging the leaves in the water.

Basil

Do not refrigerate basil as the leaves will turn black if kept under 10°C. Store in the bag in a cool dark place, or cut 2cm off the stems and place in a cup of water positioned out of direct sunlight.

For coriander - use whole sprigs, pinch off leaves or chop leaves and/or stems
